BILL 113: BRIEFS ON THE RECOGNITION OF INDIGENOUS CUSTOMARY ADOPTION IN QUEBEC

The Atikamekw Nation Council and Uauitshitun, two Aboriginal partners, presented papers with the collaboration of researchers during the proceedings of the National Assembly's Committee on Institutions studying Bill 113. The project aim is to recognise the Aboriginal customary adoption in Quebec.

The papers highlight the need to review the bill to better reflect Aboriginal legal systems of customary adoption.
