During last month’s Second Team Meeting, we had the chance to interview several collaborators to the Legitimus Project. Last week, we published an interview we conducted with young researcher Fatima Osman, who described her research project and gave her impressions concerning her field work. Today we publish an interview with prof. Chuma Himonga (University of Cape Town), the director of Fatima Osman’s research group.

Part of the Africa Group, this research group focusses on customary law in South Africa. Prof. Humonga describes in her interview the four sub-projects directed by her team. Although all projects are currently at a different stage, in most cases the data collection has been 100% completed. The arduous process of classifying and analyzing the data is well underway for most sub-projects

According to prof. Himonga, the biggest challenge they are currently facing is the small size of their research team. However, she is confident that they will succeed at completing all projects on time.

You can watch the interview with prof. Chuma Himonga below. To learn more about the sub-projects she is directing, visit her group’s page here. If you missed last week’s video with Fatima Osman, you can view it here.
