Jean-François Gaudreault-Desbiens appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal

Mr. Jean-François Gaudreault-Desbiens has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal.

He will start his new position on June 1st, 2015. Since 2009, he has held the position of the Vice-Dean of Research in the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal. He was also a full professor, a researcher at the Centre de Recherche en droit public (CRDP) and he holder the Canada Research Chair in North American and Comparative Legal and Cultural Identities. 

Prior to joining the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal, he was a professor at the law faculties of the universities of Toronto and McGill and he was a visiting professor at various universities outside Canada (Aix-Marseille, Science Po, Case Western).

Since the beginning, M. Gaudreault-Desbiens was an active member of the project The state and indigenous legal cultures: Law in search of legitimacy. He currently serves on the Executive Committee and of the integration group.
